We are headed by a team with a diversified and eclectic
background which includes a combination of over 200 years
in the construction industry. Our key personnel include:
Steve Morse, Chief Executive Officer, comes from both
an architectural and construction background. He holds a
current California Contractor’s ‘B’ License
in good standing and a Paralegal Certification. He has worked
at all levels of construction from journeyman carpenter,
to foreman, to onsite superintendent, architect project
manager, to construction manger and project director. Steve’s
construction experience is long and varied having managed
modernization of and additions to existing campuses, interim
housing, and all types of new construction. His duties have
included, but were not limited to, the development of critical
path scheduling, construction phasing, needs evaluation,
value engineering, constructability reviews, cost estimation,
directing the day to day operation of onsite contractors,
scheduling, cost control, change order mitigation, close-out
procedures, warranty evaluation and implementation. However,
Steve considers the provision of a safe and academically
productive environment for the students and staff to be
Cal K-12’s most important job.
Diane Storms, Chief Financial Officer,
has a background in construction, computers and finance.
She is a California appointed Notary and a registered Tax
Preparer. She is also a Construction Industry Technician,
certified through Clemson University and the National Association
of Women in Construction. As an Assistant Operations Manager

of America. COOLS was the first online banking system and
a precursor to the ATM machines of today. Her previous company,
Storms Computer Service, served the construction industry
for many years offering staff training, scheduling, O.P.S.C.
coordination, claims control, computer software installation
as well as network setup and support. Diane is considered
an expert in computer software and programming systems,
she has conducted seminars and classes for school districts,
contractors and a varied list of other professional organizations.
She oversees and monitors all logs and schedules including
submittals, RFI’s, plan distribution, certified payroll,

served as on-site Project Construction Manager for several
concurrent modernization projects and handled contract administration,

operations.
Our varied experience as an architect representative, carpenter,
bookkeeper, construction manager, owner’s representative,
contractor, paralegal, notary, project administrator, and
computer consultant gives Cal K-12 unique vision and perspective.
We have seen and been a part of each phase of the construction
process. It is because of this experience that we are able
to understand, appreciate and respect every aspect of the
building industry. Cal K-12 believes in a team approach
